Good Times in Branson

Woohoo...the sun is shining, the show is going great, and the backstage section of the ongoing Clay Cooper Theatre renovation took some big leaps forward this week. The whole theatre shut down for a week, so that vacations could be had and work on the building could get done...and Buckets N Boards was granted one show to do with as they pleased....so they pounded the pavement, and enthusiastically spread the word around town and they broke their own attendance record with a whopping 355 people, and had a rip-roaring good time, and silliness abounded....

This week we are attempting a new feat in untested waters...the exciting and daring 8:00 pm time slot on a.....FRIDAY NIGHT!!! We know, it sounds crazy, an added show, not even listed on the brochure....but we are flying by the seat of our pants now, and our pants always refuse to stop and ask for directions.

Thanks to everyone out there who has been helping us let people know about our goofy little show...together we will RULE THE WORLD!!!! Or at least, together we will LET THE WORLD KNOW ABOUT BUCKETS N BOARDS COMEDY AND PERCUSSION SHOW AT THE CLAY COOPER THEATRE (ACROSS FROM THE TITANIC) ON 76 IN BRANSON, MISSOURI....and then....i dunno, maybe grab a sandwich, or perhaps soup and a salad, or maybe just a soda, yeah, an ice cold soda...

Clean Comedy For The Entire Family

This is our new slogan. What do you think of it? When we are describing our show to people, we are often asked, "is it clean comedy?" And we are standing here to tell you today, that YES, IT IS. We both have two tiny daughters and we truly wanted to create a show that they would love to watch and would be funny, silly, energetic, and totally appropriate for any age. We feel that we have succeeded in doing this. We have been great audiences at our shows and it seems like word is starting to spread that what we are doing here at the Clay Cooper Theatre is both fun and highly entertaining. We are continuing to have more and more fun every time we do a show, and every show we end up adding something new or just plain getting sillier with it. Thanks to everyone that has been supporting us and helping us build a foundation for our happy little show here in Branson. Here is a link to a wonderful review that a nice lady named Kim wrote about us after seeing our show for the first time.

Thank you so much Kim!! Feel free to write as many reviews in as many places as you feel inspired to do so. There are also review sections on www.bransoncritic.com and www.tripadvisory.com
Thanks for taking a chance on our show and thanks for your enjoyment and appreciation for whatever it is that we do!!

Early Morning Friday Fun

We started nice and early today gettin donuts for the nice ticket selling folks at Grand Crowne Resorts. We stood outside watching the rain and waiting to get let into the building along with the 80 employees, which was nice cause it gave us a chance to talk with many of the people that we've met here and there over the years. When we got inside we ended up playing a 20 minute set for the whole crew, and they were a wonderfully responsive crowd. I think many of them had seen us do little bits over the years, but it was cool to be able to show a huge group of folks that actually sell the tickets a more comprehensive demonstration of what we do. So after our job was done and donuts delivered, we checked the weather and hoped the clouds would clear so we could play the big boy scout day camp at Price Cutter Park. We played this event a couple years ago and the kids really seemed to dig it. Well our good friend, and long time Buckets N Boards supporter, Janet does a lot of work for the boy scouts. She is rad, she hooked us up with about 200 pairs of misprinted drumsticks many years ago, and that allowed us to give sticks away to deserving kids when we'd play at the landing...we actually are down to our last 10 pairs...so if anybody else knows about any free drumstick factories out there be sure and let us know. So, many thanks to Janet, we got asked to come back and play for this wild bunch of children. They were a great bunch of kids and they let us know they liked the show by making more noise than I thought humanly possible, and also more weird noises than I've ever heard (and we're in a show that is built around weird noises). But it was fun and definitely the first show we've ever played on top of a dugout....and now off to hang with the family, for some long awaited family time, you know with family. Have a good friday evening y'alls. And we'll see you bright and early saturday morning, for our long awaited 10:00AM SATURDAY MORNING SHOW!!!!

Matinees at Clay's

We had a super fun show today. It seems the promo/teaser shows are starting to work, and we had a great turn out. The audience was GREAT! We've realized as we do more shows, that the audience influences how we do the show, and we improvise many parts of the show to see how far we can take some of the silliness and ridiculousness that makes our show so fun for us to do each day. We're excited to find that the creative process with our show continues on every time we take the stage. Come out to see Buckets N Boards at the New Clay Cooper Theatre, and expect the unexpected, unless of course you were already expecting that, in which case....expect the totally expected!!

Crazy Saturday in Branson

Started off playing with and for the monkeys today. We played our gig at the Dickerson Park Zoo's event "Zoobilee," directly next to the Monkey cages. And the best part of our whole day was that the monkey, "Tony," played along with us the whole hour. He had an empty Folgers canister and he was bangin' it on the tree and spinnin' it around and really gettin' into it. We have some video of the amazing monkey that we will be posting on our facebook page very shortly. We had a great time at the zoo, and hope to play many more events this year there. After our goofy morning, we hurried home to play a wacky afternoon show of Buckets N Boards at the lovely and newly renovated Clay Cooper Theatre here in beautiful Branson, Missouri, where the temperatures reached an uncomfortably humid 92 degrees today. So, extremely thankful for the air conditioning, we had a blast testing the outer boundaries of silliness for an hour and a half, this afternoon. I think we may have even accidentally added a new bit to our increasingly ridiculous show. We took a crazy long time to break down our set, and went off in different directions in search of food and rest. I found my food at Thai Thai Cuisine, located downtown by the Owens Theatre, however, they will be moving in June to a spot right next to fuddruckers and Dixie Stampede. By far my favorite restaurant ever anywhere (Gareth), Thai Thai offers outstanding Thai food spicy as you like it, and they use the freshest ingredients. So, now we are currently intermissioning at Clay Cooper's Country Music Express show. And after the show we are the opening act at a Relay for Life fundraiser at local club, Tabu. Local entertainer, Larry Foster, is working hard to put together a huge event, and we are pleased to be a part of it. And after we're done, we hope to rest... BNB

Rainy Days in Branson

Hello. I thought the rainy days were over for a little bit, but this is not the case. We played a total of 10 promo shows/teasers/mixers on monday and tuesday. I have to say the people that work at all these events are some of the nicest, most supportive folks I've met in Branson. As always, we are incredibly excited to be performing our own show tomorrow at 2. I think that we have constructed the show in such a way that I always look forward to puttin it on. It really is a joy to get to do what we do. So thank you ahead of time to all the kind folks that will be joining us tomorrow for helping us do what we do...whatever that is that we do, do...I said do do...thank you and goodnight!

Voted Most Family Friendly Comedy and Percussion Show of the Week in Branson by Us

So, to update the world wide web world out there. Shows have been going GREAT! We are pleased as punch to be performing our show at the Newly Renovated Clay Cooper Theatre, (across the street from Titanic) here in Branson. We were recently surprised to find out that our show has been included on several of the Clay Cooper Theatre billboards around town and on 65 on the way up from AR. Response from the crowds coming to our shows has been overwhelmingly positive, and people all over town are spreading the word. To all of you out there that are letting people know about Buckets N Boards, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. As it is sunday night, we are rarin' to go and wake up Branson Monday morning as we head out early to perform at up to 7 promo breakfasts and dinners, and then several more on Tuesday night. It's a lot of work, but we are so grateful to have this opportunity to actively spread the word about us and be able to show people in person what it is that we do. Working harder everyday, but loving the chance to make our dreams a reality. Thanks for your support!
Sincerely,
Buckets N Boards

A Fun Packed Saturday in Branson

We have a day full of festivities and tons of hard work, and any minute now, a hot cup of coffee. We will be starting our morning at the KOA campground here in Branson, doing what Buckets N Boards does best.....judging a pet parade. The parade is part of festivities that are going on all weekend at KOA to raise money to help kids with cancer, and to send these children and their families to summer camp. Immediately following the contest, we are jetting across town to the wonderful event called, A Day for Shea and Pals, a benefit put together by a local mom to raise money and awareness for children with Autism. We are proud to be playing at this festival today rain or shine. Check out their facebook page for more info http://www.facebook.com/pages/Branson-MO/A-Day-for-Shay-Pals/104955566063?v=wall
So when we finish playing there we will head straight to the Clay Cooper Theatre to set up and then perform the 2:00 pm crazy comedy extravaganza known in these parts as, Buckets N Boards feature length show. Following our main show , weather permitting, we will be heading to the Branson Landing to play some more and continue to promote our show and our wonderful theatre. We will surely grab a quick bite to eat, whereupon we will finish out our day with a featured spot in the fantastic show Clay Cooper's Country Music Express, at, you guessed it, the Clay Cooper Theatre. Whew...I guess I'd better start getting ready...Have a great day...
Your Pals,
